For all of those worried readers out there....no need to worry! (or aussie style .."no dramas!") After 3 days of rest, 1 day of no intensity and 3 glorious 3hr mid day naps...I"M BACK!
Yesterday I did a nice cruisy aerobic 5k swim with 6x500 sw/pull/pull,paddles, an ez 45min trot with Juzzi, a 3hr nap and an interval run in the afternoon where i just floated along below threshold and actually felt quite good!
I had to wake up at 3:45am for a hard ride this morning. It's called 100%ers...and by no coincidence is it named %100 !! we met up with local cyclists at 5:15am across the city which meant we had to leave my place at 4:20 to make it over there on time. Right from the very start of the ride is an all out effort...clip in and GO! There are 5 more efforts of varying length after that...all 100% efforts! This kind of riding isn't exactly my strength...the out of the saddle sprint at the very beginning always gets me but like a semi truck i eventually get up to speed..down in the bars and i always catch up! (yes i just compared myself to a semi truck ;) It was a great ride! I felt really strong which was a nice change! After that Adam and I did a 30min run off the bike and it then was breakie and back to bed! 3hrs later i peeled my eyes open and forced myself out of bed! Shaun is away at the moment so we get to choose our own adventure when it comes to where we swim. There are heaps of squads around but i decided to go it alone today. I swam 5k with 3x (8x50 sprint, 4x100 best average) this is a very shaun set! I felt really strong and zippy and got a good effort in. I am very excited to feel normal again! My little hole didn't last long but it was a good lesson in how to take care of myself! Shauns "athletic intellect" stuff in finally starting to absorb! ...slowly... ;)
Just though you would like to know the good news! :)
I am on an update rampage at the moment!! Don't get tooo used to it though!!
Until next time,

Hooray!! (for health and posts!) rooting for you in 2009! Stu
Glad to hear things are going well!
They let you ride group rides with your bars? Thats surprising.
Yay! Just like "smooth jazz". No worries.
Alright...better news...but, keep your eyes open...think about the future!
Good Luck!
take care,

Great to hear you've recovered. Sounds like your training has 'upped' the intensity in Oz, vs. what it was in Victoria... As long as you get the recovery time, I bet the 'shredding' that your body takes during the week, will bring a big performance boost come race time!
