Yes, I seem to put the PRO in procrastination when it comes to blogging! I have told myself everyday for the past few weeks that I will write a blog...even after countless emails and messages requesting updates! haha well here I am. Wow, my internet just cut out...hopefully I will get it back to post this! I have come close a number of times..even went to the blogger webpage and when I couldn't sign in I gave up and went to facebook :) But I fully intend to update now!
Training has been going really well the past few weeks. I was starting to think I was either a) invincible or b) shaun was putting drugs in my water bottle ;) ...that is until last thursday. Full on explosion. 10 mins in to the 2nd of 3 15 min hilly efforts I was on the tail end of the guys pack working hard but managing..then all of a sudden i sat up, couldn't pedal or breathe or think...kaBOOM! those last 5 minutes were fun...the next 15 minutes were even better...legs were done..I dont think i was even holding 80 cadence...in one of my easiest gears! haha I was so out of it that i missed the final turn on our loops and ended up riding extra (just what i needed) before running off the bike...it was only 10 minutes but when i figured i was almost done and looked at my watch to find 2:34 n the screen i nearly started to cry! I didn't think i could even run 10 minutes! But I made it, rode home, ate, slept and recovered for the afternoons HR swim set. 20x100 best average. survived that and came home to one of my premade dinner (thank god i made those..lifesavers!) and then a local cyclist, Greg Campbell who is also a massage therapist came over and gave me a 2hr rub down with some cups aswell (popular technique over here...suction the tissue from the muscle or something...anyway...it leaves purple circles all over after ;) then it was just like the old days with Kim Ward...roll of the table and into bed!
I'm only telling my hurting story but there have been plenty of really great sessions lately, especially running. Taking my time but really enjoying feeling fit!
I have also gotten into cooking! i've always been more of a baker, and believe me I still keep that up but i have taken to cooking as of late! I get home late from training so i have been cooking good healthy, more complicated recipes in the day between sessions and naps and then reheat when i get home. It's been great! Now I get to have things like sesame crusted, miso-glazed salmon with sticky rice and bok choy and polenta stacks with chicken and homemade mango chutney for dinner! (my most recent masterpieces :)
Not to much else going on over here...I'm sure everyone knows about Joel Filliol's departure from TriCan. I think it is a great opportunity for him and i think he will do an excellent job over there! I hope Poly will get a new raincoat with the Union Jack on it!! :)
Anyway, thats it for now... its nap time!

Kirsten,
Are any of your training mates competing in Hobart this weekend? I think you said you're not competing there, but will you go and watch/cheer for friends?
