In n Out

So...my trip to Boulder has already had some complications..I got up early when I really could have used a little extra sleep, ran, showered and headed out the door, scarfing my brekky in the car on the way to the airport only to find out my flight had just been cancelled. Sweet...they booked me a different routing that would have me arrive in Denver in the evening...my 30hr trip to Boulder just got even shorter!! I guess there will be no shopping for me :( So now I am back home with another hour until I head out again...hmm guess I could have gone to swimming this morning...so frustrating! Oh well...at least I'm getting there tonight! My bike fit with Dr. Pruitt is tomorrow morning so I will still make it! I can't wait to see what he finds...I got some wacky biomechanics!

Training has been going really well lately! Especially swimming. Still just spinning along on the bike (oook I reaally hope Chris isn't reading this but I'm so excited!! I went for a ride with the boys the other day and had the intention of splitting off when they started their efforts...yea we all knew that was going to happen ;) haha soo then i thought "i'll just sit on the back" haha yea..that didnt happen either..i did have good intentions but got sucked in! I felt like an old athlete saying "i still got it!" hahaha It's been a while since I gave my heart a solid beating and it felt great! and in case you ARE reading Chris...it wasn't thaaat hard...steady more like... haha honestly! So yea that was great just to see where I'm at. I don't feel like I've lost as much as when I starting coming back last year. Running is progressing really nicely. I'm up to 2min walk, 3mins run for 30mins....feels great!

Last night we had a send off BBQ for Nick, our Swiss training partner who is going home on wednesday. It was a good time! Carolyn hosted and her boyfriend used to be a chef....yea... mmm! haha lucky girl! :) we also had a little bake off at my place before hand...i think scotty won with his halloween/easter/christmas/valentines/bear/miscellaneous sugar cookies! haha the cancer causing red icing was what tipped him into the lead i think! hahaha Anyways, pictures to come later! Now it's time for a cappa in Sidney before I fly....

Hey Kristen, You really should stay off the bike until you are given the green light. I use to race LC as an elite/Pro racer years ago. I was plagued with Plantar Fasciitis for 2 years of my racing career, which eventually forced me to stop. I would let it heal for a month of pool running…ya I know, “joy” – it felt fine to me and I would start back running again to only be back to the pain again a month or so later. It took an entire year for it to finally heal properly - yes, no running for 1 year. You are still such a young elite racer with lots to learn. I would hate to see you out of your season for longer then needed from going for a thrill ride. Focus on getting for body back to perfect racing form with your coach and Dr’s ok :)You have sooooo many years to be a great athlete & so many Canadians hoping you bring us home a gold one-day! Be smart & be great! All the best.
